Meet Cara
founder + therapist
Welcome! I’m so glad you found Theraworks, and that you’re exploring ways to support yourself and your mental health. Acknowledging that you could benefit from therapy — and seeking that help — is one of the most pivotal and productive decisions you can make.
I see my office as a place of discovery — discovery of self, of the experiences that have made you who you are, and of what you desire and dream of for your present and future self. Self-exploration and reflection are powerful tools to heal from trauma, overcome emotional barriers, and reduce suffering, sadness, and indecision. And when self-discovery is paired with the judgment-free, empathetic support of a trained therapist, big things happen. Goals are met. Happiness blooms. Food and movement become joyful again. Anxiety and its symptoms ease their grip. Past, present, and future start to live in harmony once again.
It is the biggest privilege of my life that people allow me into their lives, and I am committed to leaving them happier, healthier, and more confident than they were before we met.
WHO WE CAN HELP:
-
TEENS
The teenage years are filled with monumental, exciting, and fast-moving change. We are here to support teens as they navigate their sense of self, their place in the world, and the sometimes-overwhelming idea of the future. We help teenagers manage and work through perfectionism, stress, anxiety, trauma, friendship issues, boundary setting, and disordered eating.
-
YOUNG WOMEN
A woman’s transition from teenager to adult is a beautiful time filled with growth, exploration, and fun. It can also be stressful, as you’re making major next steps in your career and education, juggling increased responsibilities, and navigating changes in your relationships with partners, parents, and friends. We work with women in their 20s and 30s to establish productive thought patterns and healthy boundaries, foster their inner voice, and make transformative positive changes to their lifestyle.
-
FAMILIES
In some cases, therapy is most effective when family members work together to improve their communication and better understand each other’s individual perspectives, hopes, and goals. We empower families — or pairs of family members, such as a mother and son or father and daughter — to communicate more effectively, establish cohesive expectations, and reduce conflict within their home.
